2011 Detroit Lions

The Lions of yesteryear are a thing of the past.  You could see the changes coming and fans towards the end of the 2010 season witnessed it for themselves as the Lions ended the season on a four-game winning streak.  With the new season underway, the Lions won a game that last season, they would have lost.  In fact, QB Matt Stafford did something only one other Lion has ever done; pass for more than Hall of Fame QB Bobby Layne. Coincidentally, Stafford went to the same high school as Layne (Highland Park High) and at one time lived on the same street as Layne growing up.

Top draft picks Nick Fairley and Titus Young and Doug Hogue all made the squad, Fairley a third string slot Young backing up Nate Burleson and Hogue the third string linebacker.  Free agent signees included Safety Eric Coleman, WR Rashied Davis, OLB Justin Durant, CB Maurice Leggett, DT Quinn Pitcocok and MLB Stephen Tulloch

Look for the Lions to continue to progress and wreck havoc on the rest of the AFC and make sure you get your tickets and come out cheer them on!
